Special Features
Q-1 Indoor Environment |
- An air-conditioning system that increases comfort and individual controllability by combining floor blower air-conditioning with task air-conditioning. Double skin ensures light collection.
- Floor blower air-conditioning
- Ambient lighting
- East-west axis building layout
|
Q-2 Quality of Service |
- Large pillar-free working space of 1,500 m2 with a ceiling height of 3.1m. Seismic-isolation and vibration-control structure, reliability enhanced by duplication of infrastructure.
- High ceiling (3.1m) working space
- Seismic-isolation and vibration-control structure
- Duplication of infrastructure
|
Q-3 Outdoor Environment on Site |
- Consideration for natural vegetation in the form of a biogarden in the front courtyard. Landscaped lake, open deck, rooftop garden and other spaces for relaxation secured.
- Biogarden
- Rooftop garden
- Building scale and layout plans including a front courtyard
|
LR-1 Energy |
- Building plan intentionally designed to reduce thermal load by using an east-west axis (openings on the north and south side, and cores on the east and west side). Positive use of natural energies with external air coolers, cool trench and others.
- Consideration for outer skin thermal load performance
- External air coolers
- Cool trench
- Natural ventilation
- Performance verification
|
LR-2 Resources and Materials |
- Large PC (Precast Concrete) floors are designed to act as exposed ceilings. By using void slabs for ducts, and giving an indirect lighting function to the ceillings, the materials needed for ceilings, ducts, etc., are reduced.
- Use of well water and rainwater
- Finishing materials reduced by using exposed ceilings
|
LR-3 Off-site Environment |
- Consideration for the surrounding environment includes greening of the outer structure with a biogarden, etc., installation of a stormwater reservoir for flood control, water permeable pavement, and advanced wastewater treatment.
- Greening of outer structure
- Water permeable pavement
- Installation of a stormwater reservoir for flood control
- Advanced purification and drainage of wastewater

Other Features
These cases are described based on assessment results obtained using
CASBEE.
CASBEE is a method for rating the environmental performance of buildings using
Building Environmental Efficiency (BEE) as an indicator, which is based on the results of
separate scores obtained for Q-1~Q-3 (Quality) and LR-1~LR-3 (Load Reduction).
