Project Outline

Toyota Institute Global Learning Center is a training facility built to perpetuate the company’s values. It is surrounded by abundant greenery and sits atop a low hill with a panoramic view over Lake Hamana. In fact, one of the key factors in the design was harmony with the local scenery and natural environment. Environmentally friendly methods were applied from the start of architectural planning, including the use of natural energy, creating high-efficiency equipment systems, verifying performance, and so on. The result was a training facility that has excellent all-round environmental performance.
< Concepts of environmental consideration >
・ Architectural plans that mitigate impact on the surrounding environment
・ An indoor environment designed in consideration for trainees from abroad
・ Reduction of thermal load and use of natural energy
・ Use of high-efficiency systems and verification of their performance

These cases are described based on assessment results obtained using CASBEE.
CASBEE is a method for rating the environmental performance of buildings using Building Environmental Efficiency (BEE) as an indicator, which is based on the results of separate scores obtained for Q-1~Q-3 (Quality) and LR-1~LR-3 (Load Reduction).
